Fire Safety Guides for Businesses
Below you will find key information to help keep your premises safe from fire, and meet the legal requirements of The Fire and Rescue Services (Northern Ireland) Order 2006.
The cornerstone of fire safety begins by completing a Fire Safety Risk Assessment. Start by downloading the guide that most closely relates to your premises type. It will provide you with information on all of the things you will need to consider. Templates are available at the bottom of the page to assist you.
If you are responsible for specialised housing (eg. sheltered housing, extra care housing, or supported housing for people with common characteristics, such as learning disabilities and mental health problems), the NFCC Fire Safety in Specialised Housing guide is helpful.
The website of Building Control Northern Ireland provides links to The Building Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2012, and in particular Technical Booklet E, Fire Safety, October 2012.
