We are Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS).
We provide all of Northern Ireland – an area of over 5,500 square miles, with a population of 1.88 million – with fire and rescue services.
We are here to make Northern Ireland a safer place.
What we do
We respond to fires; road traffic collisions; and specialist rescue incidents including flooding, chemical incidents, collapsed buildings and a wide range of other emergencies.
The strategic direction, performance and scrutiny of NIFRS is overseen by The Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service Board.
We regularly publish documents for consultation. We are your Fire & Rescue service and we welcome your feedback.
Executive Leadership Team
The Executive Leadership Team is responsible for ensuring NIFRS acts in accordance with the law and proper standards. They also ensure that public money is properly accounted for and used economically, efficiently and effectively.
Learning & Development Centre
Our new Learning & Development Centre is revolutionising how we train our Firefighters. It allows Firefighters to train in “real life” scenarios, imitating the hazards they face while protecting our community.
We publish information about our work. You can find the documents that we publish here.
