A Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) Spokesperson said:
“Between 6pm on the 31 October and 1am on 1 November, NIFRS Regional Control Centre received 83 emergency calls and Fire Crews have responded to 62 operational incidents. This equates to a 22% increase for the same period in 2019. 18 of these incidents were bonfire/ Halloween related.”
“Crews attended 2 separate incidents where they encountered hostile members of the public throwing missiles, including fireworks. There were no injuries to crews, however at one of these incidents crews withdrew for safety reasons.”
