A Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue (NIFRS) spokesperson said:
“A large fire at a commercial property in Station Road, Crossgar, Downpatrick has been dealt with. The initial call was received at 2.13pm on Tuesday 26 December 2023.
“At the height of the incident approximately 50 Firefighters attended along with 9 Appliances and an Aerial Appliance from Downpatrick, Ballynahinch, Newcastle, Central, Comber, Knock, Lisburn, Antrim, Rathfriland, Banbridge, Newry and Cadogan.
“Firefighters wearing Breathing Apparatus used specialist equipment to enter the property and extinguish the fire.
“Our Firefighters worked tirelessly throughout the duration of the incident to ensure the fire was brought under control and to not spread to other properties.
“We would like to thank the public for their patience whilst we dealt with the incident.
“The incident was dealt with by 8.12pm.”
