Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service regularly publishes documents for consultation. This is your fire and rescue service and your views matter. We welcome all comments from interested parties to help shape the future of Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service.
NIFRS has developed a draft CCTV Policy. This sets out how we will comply with the Data Protection Act in respect of the use of CCTV (closed circuit television) surveillance systems operated, managed or used by the Service.
The Policy provides clear guidance on the how images will be gathered, stored and what purposes they will be used for and detail how NIFRS will meet and comply with its statutory requirements.
We are committed to our Section 75 statutory equality obligations and initial equality screening on the draft CCTV Policy has not indicated any significant adverse impact for any of the recognised equality groups, at this stage. However, we would be keen for our stakeholders to consider our draft CCTV Policy and to provide us with feedback on our decision to ‘screen out’ the Plan.
We also welcome any comments or information in general on the policy content, which we will be considered in advance of implementation. A stakeholder letter, initial Screening Report, copy of the draft CCTV Policy and a short consultation questionnaire to assist you in making a response are available for download below.

If you require further clarification on the CCTV Policy, a meeting with Miss Deborah Reynolds, Head of Planning, Performance & Governance, can be arranged or a telephone discussion facilitated on request.
Please return your completed consultation questionnaire and should be returned to Miss Hazel Kelly via email or post at the return details contained in the questionnaire.
The closing date for receipt of comments is Monday 21 May 2018.
