IN LIGHT OF THE CURRENT CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) SITUATION, THE DELIVERY OF NIFRS YOUTH ENGAGEMENT PROGRAMMES HAS BEEN TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED. THIS INCLUDES ALL FIVE CADET BRANCHES. NO RETURN DATE HAS BEEN SET FOR THE CADETS OR ANY OTHER YOUTH ENGAGEMENT ACTIVITY.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING AT THIS UNPRECEDENTED TIME.
If you want a challenge, up for having fun and gaining new skills, take part in NIFRS Cadets.
Every year hundreds of young people and adult Volunteer Cadet Leaders take part in NIFRS Cadets for exciting opportunities, meeting new friends, adventure and most of all – fun!
As a CUBE has six sides, there are six elements to this programme:
CUBE is a 2-day scheme, in conjunction with the Education Authority (referral agency) and is led by firefighters. The overall focus of the programme is to reduce hoax calls, attacks on firefighters and deliberate fires.
Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service has partnered with The Prince’s Trust to engage young people aged 16 to 24 years old across Northern Ireland who are not currently in education, employment or training. NIFRS is currently supporting the Get Started initiative. The Prince’s Trust is the referral agency for this course.
Get Started with the Fire Service works with young people to develop a range of skills such as teamwork and leadership as well as familiarisation of the range of employment opportunities with NIFRS. The course lasts for 5 days.
