{"id":1500,"date":"2021-02-03T15:54:39","date_gmt":"2021-02-03T15:54:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nifrs.org\/what-do-we-do\/detail-master\/"},"modified":"2023-07-27T12:11:14","modified_gmt":"2023-07-27T11:11:14","slug":"home-fire-safety","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.nifrs.org\/home\/staying-safe\/community-safety\/home-fire-safety\/home-fire-safety\/","title":{"rendered":"Home Fire Safety Check"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Home Fire Safety Check<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignwide has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p>A Home Fire Safety Check is a visit to your home to provide advice on how to stay safe from fire. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each visit will be carried out by at least two staff from NIFRS who will be wearing NIFRS uniform and will carry a NIFRS photographic identification card. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the visit they will either fit a smoke alarm or show you how to test your existing smoke alarm, explain the potential fire risks in your home, provide fire safety advice and explain the importance of having a night time fire safety routine and a fire escape plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The visit will take up to 40 minutes. However we realise some people may still have Covid-19 concerns and there may be vulnerable occupants in your home.  So at the time of booking, and when we call to your door, please let us know if you want our crews to wear masks in your property.  We will also ask you at the time of booking if anyone in your household is positive for Covid-19 and we will reschedule our visit to a more suitable time, if required. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NIFRS personnel will telephone on the date of the visit to confirm there are no changes to your circumstances regarding Covid-19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>If you do not want us to visit your home<\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p>Alternatively, if you do not want us to visit your home, we can complete a Home Fire Safety Check over the telephone with you.
