A serving Watch Commander and retired Leading Firefighter have been honoured in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List.
Retained Watch Commander, William Robert Casey, from Magherafelt Fire Station received the Order of the British Empire (BEM) for Services to the community in Magherafelt.
Retired Retained Leading Firefighter, George Clarke McLaughlin also received the Order of the British Empire (BEM) for services to the NI Fire Brigade and voluntary service to community in Limavady.
Michael Graham, Interim Chief Fire & Rescue Officer said:
“On behalf of Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service I would like to congratulate both William and George on this recognition. They have played an important role in helping to protect their local community and are very deserving of these accolades”.
