Two Appliances from Northland Fire Station and the Flood Rescue Team from Crescent Link Fire Station  were called to support colleagues in Donegal Fire Service, Irish Coastguard, Gardai and Donegal Ambulance Service at an incident in which a car with four occupants left the road and plunged into water.

A woman escaped from the vehicle and raised the alarm and NIFRS Firefighters supported their colleagues by entering the water and removing a man from the vehicle. Tragically this man and two children lost their lives in the incident.

The incident was dealt with at 12.24am (21 August).  

The thoughts of NIFRS are with the family and friends of the deceased at this tragic time.
