NIFRS responded to a call at 5.47am on 4 November 2018 to a well-developed fire in stables at Lenamore, Muff. A horse transporter was also on fire to the rear of the property.
3 appliances, 2 from Northland Fire Station and 1 from Crescent Link Fire Station, attended the incident. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire and prevented it from spreading to adjacent stables.
2 horses died at the scene prior to the arrival of Fire Crews. A woman in her 20s was treated at the scene by ambulance personnel for smoke inhalation and minor burns. She was taken to hospital by ambulance.
The incident was dealt with at 7.21am. The cause of the fire appears to be accidental.
The scene was handed over to Donegal Fire Service and An Garda Siochana for further investigation.
