On 4 February 2021 at around 6.30am Firefighters were called to a report of a car fire, that had spread to other cars in the carpark of a residential building on Eglantine Place, Belfast. Smoke from the car fires entered flats. Firefighters rescued 5 casualties from the building, who were then taken into the care of Northern Ireland Ambulance Service. Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used 3 jets to extinguish the fire. At the height of the incident 4 Fire Appliances, 1 High Reaching Appliance and 24 personnel were in attendance. The incident was dealt with at 11.32am and the cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate ignition.
