Derelict Building Fire, Londonderry

Location: Ulsterville Avenue, Londonderry

NIFRS responded to a call at 8.55pm last night, 17 September, to a fire in the disused Ebrington Primary school site at Ulsterville Avenue, Londonderry.

 4 appliances, 3 from Crescent Link Fire Station and 1 from Northland Fire Station, attended the incident. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire.


A Firefighter injured his arm during the incident and required hospital treatment for stitches.


The incident was dealt with at 9.58pm and the cause of the fire was deliberate.


This was the third deliberate fire NIFRS has dealt with at this location having also attended incidents on the 16 and 17 August 2018.


“NIFRS would appeal to people not to start fires deliberately as they are putting themselves, the public and Firefighters at unnecessary risk.
