Ambulance fire, Daisy Hill Hospital

Location: Hospital Road, Newry

NIFRS received a call at 9.02am on Friday 28th December to Daisy Hill Hospital, Newry where an ambulance was on fire. One appliance from Newry Fire Station attended the incident. 


The cause of the fire was accidental, started by an electrical fault within the engine.  An oxygen cylinder inside the ambulance was involved in the fire.  Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus quickly contained and extinguished the fire. There were no reports of any casualties.


The incident was dealt with at 9.39am.
