Location: NEWTOWNARDS - VAN
Details:  
Crews from Newtownards attended a report of a fire involving a transit van at Quarry Heights in Newtownards and discovered the vehicle well alight. Rubbish burning beside the van had spread and firefighters used a hosereel jet and a foam jet to extinguish the blaze. Gas cylinders were also present nearby and were checked for safety purposes using a thermal image camera.

Location: KILBRONEY PARK, ROSTREVOR - CASUALTY / RESCUE
Details:  
A Paraguard stretcher was used to bring a 42 year old casualty to a waiting ambulance at the Kilbroney Park at Rostrevor. He appeared to be suffering from a broken bone in his lower leg.

Location: NEWTOWNARDS - RTC - CASUALTIES / RESCUE
Details:  
A two vehicle collision on the Comber Road outside Newtownards resulted in NIFRS personnel having to release an elderly woman from her car. The 84 year old suffered chest and leg injuries and was taken to the Ulster Hospital by ambulance. Two others, both 19 year olds in the second car, suffered minor injuries.

Location: CAVE HILL, BELFAST - CASUALTY / RESCUE
Details:  
A special stretcher was used to bring a casualty down from the Cave Hill to a waiting ambulance after they fell and suffered a broken ankle. A NIFRS Special Rescue team was in attendance to effect the rescue.

Location: BOTANIC - FLAT - FATAL FIRE
Details:  
FATAL INCIDENT
Crews responded to a report of a flat on fire in University Street in the Botanic area of Belfast. It was discovered immediately that there were persons still in the property and extra resources were mobilised. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus located a 63 year old male casualty. Crews attempted to resuscitate the man with oxygen however he was later pronounced fatal at the scene. A main jet and a covering jet were used to extinguish the blaze.

Location: ABBEY RETAIL PARK - SUPERMARKET UNIT
Details:  
An extra pumping appliance was requested to attend to deal with a fire in a refrigeration unit in a Tesco store at the Abbey Retail Park outside Belfast. Two Co2 extinguishers were used and a watching brief set up until the arrival of the engineers to deal with the unit.

Location: PORTADOWN - RTC - RESCUES / CASUALTIES
Details:  
A three car collision on the Gilford Road outside Portadown resulted in firefighters having to cut a 51 year old woman from her vehicle. Another 20 year old man had already been removed from the scene and was also conveyed to hospital prior to NIFRS crew's arrival. Three others were all 'walking wounded' and did not have to attend hospital.

Location: BALLYGAWLEY - RTC - RESCUE / CASUALTY
Details:  
Firefighters used hydraulic cutting gear to release a 34 year old man from a car after a single car incident on the Ballymackilroy Road outside Ballygawley. He was taken to hospital by ambulance.

Location: WESTLINK, BELFAST - RTC - CASUALTIES
Details:  
A total of 10 casualties resulted from a road traffic collision involving 5 cars on the Westlink in Belfast on Saturday afternoon. Whilst no-one was trapped in their vehicles, NIFRS personnel assisted ambulance staff with casualties as a number had to be taken to hospital.

Location: DUNGANNON - DETACHED HOUSE - SMOKE ALARM / CASUALTY
Details:  
A 44 year old woman suffered smoke inhalation and burns to her hands in a kitchen fire at a detached house on the Old Eglish Road outside Dungannon. She was taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment. Smoke alarms had alerted her to the danger.
